Oodles of Noodles!
Come out to the Knox United Church Spaghetti Dinner on Fri., April 5 between 5 and 7 pm. The tickets are $10 (ages 10 and under free) and includes spaghetti, salad, bun, and tasty dessert. Call 613-445-5690 for tickets. Hope to see you there!

Sunday School Sleepover
It’s our annual Sunday School Sleepover. Kids, and a few brave adults, will take over the church from 6 pm Sat., Nov. 24 to 9:30 am Sun., Nov. 25 for crafts, singing, snacking, and assorted goofiness all centered on the theme of “joy.” Contact Bonnie to register.
Update: We had 11 young people take part at the sleepover and had a great time. Here’s a picture after decorating the Christmas tree.

Harvest Supper
The Knox United Church Harvest Supper is around the corner. Mark Nov. 17 on your calender and call Judy or Jan now to get your tickets for this fantastic ham and scalloped potato dinner. And pie. Don’t forget the homemade pie.
There will be sittings at 5 pm and 6:30 pm. Tickets are $15, with ages 6 to 12 eating for $7, and 5 and under free.

Strawberry Social approaching
We’re gearing up for our annual strawberry social on Thurs., June 28 at Emerald Links Golf & Country Club. Mark it on your calendar. We’re looking for volunteers to work a number of jobs: set-up, picking berries, cleaning berries, serving, clean-up. If you can help, please contact Judy James. We are also looking for donations of themed baskets for the raffle. See Sallie Fish if you can help in that department.

Walk/Run/Bike and Sunday School Picnic
Join us after church on June 17 (Father’s Day) for a bike ride, walk or jog after church. We’ll cover about 5 km and meet back at the church for a barbecue and some games. Please contact Bonnie James if you’d like to help out or for more information. Bring your family and celebrate Father’s Day!

A Titanic Success!
An elegant table was set.
Thanks to everyone who assisted with the Titanic event on Sun., April 15. The Ottawa-Carleton Male Choir was fantastic and the delectable treats afterward were a great way to cap off the evening. The church hall downstairs was transformed into a first class dining lounge. This event raised about $770 for the kitchen renovation fund. Here are a few pictures:

Books, Beads, and Breakfast
Books, Beads, and Breakfast is back on April 13 at Falconridge Golf Course. Tickets are $20 and proceeds go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation supporting grandmothers in sub-Saharan Africa. The event is being organized by our local Grannies All About Kids group. See Joan Hyland at church for tickets or to donate books. Enjoy a lovely breakfast and bring home something new to read!

Easter service
There will be a Good Friday service at the church on Fri., April 6 at 6:30 pm. All are welcome to attend. Easter Sunday service is per usual at 9:30 am.
