Covid-19
Our building has been closed since March, but we have enjoyed a few outdoor services over the summer. We are getting back to regular programming. For now, we’re planning every second week. Please join us for service: Sept 27, Oct 11 and Oct 25.
We will be following provincial and City of Ottawa Covid-19 regulations. You will be asked to self-screen for Covid symptoms and stay away if you are ill. You must be prepared to leave your name and phone number so we can do contact tracing if necessary. There will be no singing or Sunday School in the short term, but we will still enjoy music and kids are welcome to work on activities in the pews during the service. Handshakes and hugs are off-limits for now. There will be no bulletins.
We fall under the city’s indoor face mask policy, so masks covering the nose and mouth should be worn in the building. We will provide disposable masks for anyone who needs one. There will also be hand sanitizer in the entryway.
It sounds like a lot of rules, but there will still be catching up with your friends and neighbours, jokes and music. There will be prayer and (we hope) enlightenment. We will reap the rewards of sharing a sacred space and praising our Creator — the ribbon that runs through all life.

Christmas dates to remember
There is a lot to do and take in during the Advent season. Please make time to share fellowship and make memories with your friends at Knox United.
- Dec. 16 after service Potluck Brunch. Bring your finest. At the same time, there will be a rehearsal for the Christmas Concert. If you have any little ones that would like to participate by doing a recitation, please contact Bonnie at bonnie@brytesun.com.
- Dec. 20 7 p.m. Christmas Concert
- Dec. 23 9 a.m. Regular Service
- Dec. 24 6 p.m. Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL NOT BE HAVING “LIVE CANDLES” FOR SAFETY REASONS. PLEASE BRING BATTERY OPERATED CANDLES. YOU CAN ALSO DOWNLOAD AN APP ON YOUR PHONE CALLED “CANDLE.”
- During Advent we will collect clothing, toiletries and treats for the residents of Harvest House. Please drop off your donations at the church.
- Dec. 30 9 am A service focusing on Christmas hymns.

Harvest Dinner
The annual Knox Harvest Dinner is taking place at the church on Sat., Nov. 17 2018. Come for ham, scalloped potatoes, beans, coleslaw, carrots, and pie! Two sittings: 5 pm and 6:30pm. (5pm sold out) Tickets are $15.00 each and $7.00 for kids 8 to 12 and 7 and under eat for free. Speak to Judy James if you still need tickets. Hope to see you there! Father’s Day Bike/Run/Walk
You are welcome to join us on Sun., June 17 for our annual Father’s Day walk/run/bike after the regular service. We’ll travel about 5 km and then enjoy a barbeque back at the church. Donations will be accepted for Rideau Hill Camp. A great way to spend time with dad! Or to enjoy fellowship and fitness with the gang at Knox.

Strawberry Social Upcoming
Join your Knox Edwards friends for the annual Strawberry Social on Wed., June 28 from 3-6 pm at Emerald Links Golf. Tickets are $6 and will get you a hearty helping of local berries with cake and ice cream. There are always delicious treats at the bake table and something for your flowerbed at the plant sale. Celebrate the start of summer with fellowship and fun.

Spaghetti!
Mmmm…..spaghetti with home made sauce, Caesar salad, buns, and home made dessert. Get yourself to Knox Edwards on April 8 from 5-7 pm for our annual spaghetti supper. Open Mic Nov 18
Bring out your talent to the church on Fri., Nov 18 between 7 and 9 pm. Have your chance to play a song, tell a story, share some jokes, or whatever it is that you do best. Or just come for an evening of entertainment. Everyone is welcome!
