Harvest Dinner

Plan to attend the Knox Harvest Supper on Sat., Nov. 8 for a delicious meal of ham and scalloped potatoes, with home made pies for dessert. There are sittings at 5 pm and 6:30 pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7 for children aged 7 to 12, and free for ages 6 and under. For tickets or information contact Judy James. Food and fellowship: we do it right in Edwards!

Trivia Night Fundraiser

Help us bring back our piano! For the past couple of months our piano has been receiving a much needed restoration. It’s almost time for it to come home. Join us for this fundraiser on Fri., Oct. 24 at 7:30 pm for a team trivia challenge. $10 per person, 6 people per team. There will be prizes, a baked goods silent auction, and refreshments will be available. Kids/youth are welcome. Call Judy to register your team — space is limited!

Building a new relationship

The Knox family was pleased to welcome its new minister, Margie Ann MacDonald, to her first service on Sept. 7. There will be a formal covenanting service later this fall. For her first children’s time, Margie Ann had the kids build a church out of blocks, working together to create a beautiful structure — with love in the middle!

Searching for a new minister

Knox Edwards is on the hunt for a new minister. Our church is a family place. We are a single point charge wherein our congregation holds traditional Christian values. However, we do consider our faith community to be open-minded and inclusive. We look forward to welcoming a minister with similar values.

Spaghetti Supper Coming Up

The Knox Edwards Spaghetti Supper will take place on Fri., April 11. Come get your fill of spaghetti, caesar salad, bread and dessert between 5 and 7 pm. Tickets are $10 and ages 10 and under eat for $5. Contact Judy James for tickets. Hope to see you there!

Gingerbread Auction for World Vision

Our annual Sunday School gingerbread house auction was held on Dec. 1 and raised $1820 for World Vision! There were 6 gingerbread houses, two large gingerbread men, and a variety of jars of pickles and jams. We will be ordering a stable of animals, a beehive, family fish farm, 10  fruit trees, a solar installation, 4  mosquito nets, stocking 2 classrooms and a medical clinic and providing a cell phone for a medical worker. Special thanks to auctioneer Erin James. Well done Knox Edwards!

Christmas Concert

The famous Knox United Church Christmas Concert will take place on Thurs., Dec. 19 at 7 pm. Recitations, music, a play, and more — including a visit from Santa! Come early to get a good seat.

Tree Trimming Party

All youth and children are invited to a tree trimming get together at the church on Sat., Nov. 30 from 7 to 8:30 pm. We will decorate the tree, practice the songs for the Christmas concert and have some hot chocolate and cookies. Please let Bonnie or Judy know if you are coming.
